Super World Indie Tune Of The Day: We premiere Liquid Walls by KO:MI

Super World Indie Tune Of The Day -14.05.2020. KO:MI – Liquid Walls.

First things first, Liquid Walls is simply a beautiful song. The melody is as sweet as a nut, matched by Sanna Komi’s unadorned voice. The cello and clarinet are divine, and the angelic backing vocals all give the song a majestic quality which is quite intoxicating. Speaking of intoxication, the subject of the song is quite unusual and refreshingly open and honest.

KO:MI expands on the themes of the new song: “‘Liquid Walls.’ is a song about social insecurities. It explores the feelings of not fitting in and fears of missing out, and how alcohol (a big taboo!) can play into this messy equation. In the end, it is all about finding the balance between having fun in the now and figuring out what is most meaningful in the long run, and trusting that we are enough just as we are.” Not something you hear about every day in modern pop music.

The song is produced by Pasi Viitanen and officially released on all digital platforms on the 15th of May 2020 via Soliti. KO:MI will play a live stream on the day to coincide with the release. The dreamlike video re-imagines the story of Thelma and Louise in a world without violent toxic masculinity. That’ll be the day.

KO:MI is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Sanna Komi, known from dozens of indie bands (Pintandwefall, Kynnet, Cats of Transnistria, Tuusanuuskat, etc.). KO:MI’s debut album “Songs of Them” was released in November 2017.
