SWIT Sounds Abound #1

What with the number of submissions we’ve been getting via SSSH! we’ve been neglecting our other subscriptions to some extent so we are introducing an irregular new feature called “SWIT Sounds Abound” to bring you even more great Super World Indie Tunes. All the songs have been added to our Spotify and YouTube best of 2018 playlists. So without further ado let’s have a look at and a listen to

Satellite Stories – Coupons

Coupons is the blistering new track from Finland’s biggest Indie outfit. Taken from the upcoming album “Cut out the Lights”, out September 14th.

Her Skin – Prickly Pear (WWNBBC)

Second time on SWIT for Her Skin, and another country-tinged acoustic beauty. Sweet like honey.

The Milk Carton Kids – “Big Time” (Anti Records)

The best little band in Eagle Rock return with this stunning lo-fi old-time country folk recording, it would give Bob Dylan/Johnny Casy a run for their money. A country band playing country music, now that’ what I like. “Big Time” is from the album ‘All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do,’ available June 29th.

Swiernalis – Pergamin (KayaxTV)

Meanwhile, in Warszawa, Swinerails return with another atmospheric gem, combined with the enigmatic and frankly bonkers video and it’s all a bit special.

CHICKN – Am I Cher? (Inner Ear Records)

Greek band CHICKN are new to me, this is just a brilliant retro tune, like Cat Stevens overdosing on acid. Pure class. I am Cher about that.

Hit Bargain – Capitulate (Buzz Records)

When is sex like friendly fire? Frenetic new punked tune from LA’s Hit Bargain, they have all the answers.

HAMIDOU – Jawla Feli (Born Bad Records)

Fancy some Algerian rap from 1984, who wouldn’t? What a great find! From the Born Bad compilation “CHEBRAN – FRENCH BOOGIE – 82/89 VOL2”.

EUROTEURO – Window (Siluh Records)

Terrific ominous electro-pop from Vienna’s (I think) EUROTEURO. Love it.

Bedchamber – Moon (Kolibri Rekords)

Bedchamber are from Jakarta. They make fantastic lo-fi tunes, this is one of them – “Moon” from debut album Geography. Ox-bowtastic.

Hund – Is it Really What You Need? (WWNBBC)

And last but not least, Venetian band Hund leave us with the excellence lo-fi psych tune “Is It Really What You Need?” And the answer is an indubitable YES. It’s from their LP “Matches”, out today (May 11th).
