Jef Maarawi – Reverend Jones
It’s Inner Ear Records double weirdness today, following our post of Bazooka earlier. Here’s “Reverend Jones”, another far-out freak-out moon-age daydream from Jef Maarawi. It’s a psyche-folk meditation on infamous holy man Reverend Jones that collapses into a rather wonderful jazz breakdown. The titles roll and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible drives away into a blood-red sunset. The tune is from Jef’s new LP “Comfort Food”, hitting the streets on the 11th of December, just in time for Christmas. Jesus would approve.
