Ora Cogan – Darling

Darling is from Ora’s new LP “Crickets”, out November 3rd, 2017 on Hand Drawn Dracula. “Darling” puts me in mind of Blue Velvet and Waylon Jennings (?!?!?!?), of dreams of summer in the dark mid-Winter, of grandfather clocks chiming somewhere far far away down the hall. The bass is to like die for and Ora’s vocals are simply stunning.

The album features percussionist Dani Markham (TuneYards, Childish Gambino), violinist Russel Kotcher (Chamber Orchestra of NY), and background vocalist Maia Friedman (Uni Ika Ai).
