This is our second time featuring Die Heiterkeit and the laughter remains brittle, at the very least. Their new single “Heller Morgen” (Bright Morning) from the classic double album “Pop & Tod I + II” is another magesterial, minimalist elctro-choral masterpiece. Dignifed, stately, mounful and unbearably beautiful, it’s a must listen. A word to the wise – Pop & Tod I + II will assume it’s rightful place in the patheon of great German records, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow – but soon and for the rest of your life.
