Ya Tosiba, it’s been a while, quite a while, but we’re glad you’re back. I think Ya Tosiba was one of the first interviews we did many many months ago. Their debut album is on the way – “Love Party” on Asphalt Tango Records. The duo consist of Norwegian-Azerbaijani Zuzu Zakaria and Finnish skweee meister Tatu Metsätähti (aka Mesak) and they mix oral traditions from Azerbaijan with underground electronic beats to create what they call “pan-European club music”. Whatever you call it, it’s a beguiling sound and “Arif” is a perfectly beautiful example of what they can do. The LP is out June 9th, stick it in your diary now!
