I was a beach bum as a kid, I loved beach balls too and I lived in a beach hut near a beech tree, drove there in my beach buggy and munched some beech nuts. So go on then, guess what music I listened to? Yeah, yeah? It was The Jesus and Mary Chain! Anyway ,that’s enough about me, here’s an 1964 clip of The Beach Boys live. Running at under 22 minutes – this is well worth a watch. Genius. Not sure what brought it to mind, anyway, it’s great!.

“Hum… I have a “secret” ambition, destroying the… Records Store Day. I can’t understand how – real – indie bands/ labels are ok with that. To be honest, I accepted once to take part of it. People were sweet but I was thinking “What the fuck am I doing here? “. People involved in the Records Store day – I’m not talking about indie record stores of course – are making of records simple goodies. And that sucks. Really !”

Yes! It’s our interview with Rémi from from Atelier Ciseaux Records . Their tunes have fruited my loom.

SWIT’s Long Player Of The Week: OUH LÀ LÀ by JUNIORE

With the album being released back in March we’re a bit late to the party with this one – don’t worry friends, we’ll outstay our welcome. You can take that to la Banque. Buy hey it was worth the wait, because guess what? This record done blew me away. Speaking of blew, OUH LÀ LÀ by JUNIORE channels Blow-Up, sixites French pop, Audrey Hepburn singing “Moon River”, Peggy Lee, Tarantino-esque guitars (is there such a thing? You know what I mean) ans wraps it up in an utterly irresistable package courtesy of the production by Samy Osta (La Femme, Feu! Chatterton). Doo wop Doo Wop Do Woo, I’m feeling pretty moved. Anna Jean’s vocals are making the scene, so cool they’re hot, sizzling. But this ain’t no tribute band, these tunes are so sharp I cut myself every time I listen. I suffer for rtheir art, the pain is exquisite. Funny thing, like JC at The Wedding at Cana, they saved the best for last. Antoine is a stunning song, sounding like nobody else, sounding like nobody else at all and closer “En cavale” is a woozy dream made real, you wake up and you play it again and again.

Ohh Swoons with these tunes you’re inflating our balloons. Here I am and this week we look back to last December and our chat with Near Myth. These guys has one of my albums of 2016 so I was delighted we got the chance to interview them. Amongst other things they told us they were fans of Dan Beckoner’s new band Operators.Check out our CLASSIC SWIT INTERVIEW!

Here’s the latest piece to hung in La Galleria De La Switeux by the multi-talented Midori Hirano. In her own words this is “a photo I took in a beautiful garden of the temple where I played live in Tokyo during my tour in Japan last time. The stone you can see in the picture shows “Number 50″ with a flower symbol which I find nice.” It’s wonderful. Thanks Midori. MimiCof’s latest album Moon Synch is also wonderful and out now on Alien Transistor records. Watch ourt for out interview with Midori too, coming up in a couple of weeks.

That’s us for another SWITASTIC week. Hang around, you never know who you might meet X
