Tune into the indie-folk musings of Simen Mitlid on “Competition”, the 4th single from Simen’s forthcoming LP “Everything is the Same”. Surely, it’s lovely and has that angst and shadowy regret (Red House Painters anyone? anyone ?) that I like and you think “nice” but then the chorus kicks in and it blossoms into something else altogether, a pulsing, beuatiful wall of sound – less folk, more indie and it’s all the better for it. Excellent song. We approve. I ownder if it’s actually about the extinction of the dinosaurs? That just occured to me.
