SWIT’s Long Player of the week: Scene Missing by Sundayman

Hello there – I’m a bit rushed today and didn’t get to write a proper or improper appraisal of this record. Missing Scene is a collaboration between Sundayman and George Manoloudis, recorded over a 2 year period in Greece. This is one of the most beautiful electronic albums I’ve heard this year – it’s a soundtrack for the movie in your mind, it’s analogue for the digital age, it’s got that vibrant retro feel but it never sounds derivative. It’s a companion piece for Air’s debut album, maybe – I’m not sure yet. In fact, I haven’t listened to it nearly enough but it arrested me immediately (for jay-walking across it’s keyboards) and I might write some more when I do but please do have a listen yourself. It’s jolly bloody good.
