Ode on the release of All Tomorrow’s Monsters
The monsters sit outside my gate
Waiting for night to fall
I watch from the attic wearily
I know they’ll come to call
They hide inside my arteries
They pull at my heart strings
They killed my dog some days ago
With the poison that they bring
They’ve started playing music
On instruments divine
Stolen down from Lucifer
Creeping up my spine
It’s Zastava filled with longing
It’s the shadows of the day
It’s shatter-gun and serious
It’s raw, it burns my mind away
It’s surfing on a wave
Of horror rock and grime
The killer riffs are killing me
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine.
